About the Language Science program:
DeSoto ISD provides a positive class setting for students with dyslexia through a multi-sensory curriculum (MTA).  The instruction is organized and presented in a way that follows a logical sequence as well as a hands-on approach to phonics, spelling, and writing.  This multi-sensory teaching program has been documented to be effective for the dyslexic student.

What is dyslexia?
According to the International Dyslexia Association, it means there is a weak sensitivity to the sounds of the language in the brain which can be inherited.  It has nothing to do with a person's intellect.  This is a bio-neurological learning disorder which has nothing to do with eye sight.  Albert Einstein and former president Woodrow Wilson were thought to have coped with dyslexia.  If you believe your child may need to be tested, please contact me via the information provided below.  Remember to celebrate your child's unique talents!
